How do comments affect to improve my writings?
Reference Image 1: Comment Policy- Beliefs of the Heart |
The comments others have
posted on my blog are not helpful to improve my writings for two reasons.
First, people rarely leave comments on my writings. Because I could hardly find
comments on my writings, I don’t have any chance to find my grammatical or structural
faults in my writings. I believe that more feedbacks would make my writings
rich and profound. I definitely look forward to receiving more feedbacks and
concerns about my writings, so I could have a gist to decide whether my
writings are on right track or not. Second, most of comments people left on my
blogs do not talk about which part of my writings sounds awkward. I would like
to be clear with ambiguousness in my writings and want to hear thoughtful
comments that I can actually reflect on my writings. Instead of showing
concerns about the contents of my writings, I prefer to have more comments on
my structure of writings.
The comments I have posted on
other blogs are helpful to improve both of my writings and writing skills for
two reasons. First of all, if I find some grammatical or structural mistakes on
others’ blogs, I go back to my blog and check whether I made the same mistakes
as the writer did. For example, when I suggested not to start with FANBOYS in a
sentence, I also double-checked to see if I started with FANBOYS. Particularly,
leaving comments about grammatical mistakes help me to take a look at my
grammatical mistakes. Second, I can learn dos and don’ts in writings. For
instances, if I read others’ well-written paragraphs, I get motivated to make
my writings better and attempt to apply the good aspects of their writings.
This eventually leads to improvement of my writings.
In brief, leaving comments on
others’ blogs are helpful to improve my writings and writings skills, but comments
others posted on my blogs are not really helpful to improve my writings.

Dear June,
답글삭제Although I don't give good advice to you, I try to write comments well. I felt sorry because you were not helpful to improve in your writing, but it's a relieve that your comments were helpful to you. I think structure and grammar of your writings are great, so there are nothing to fix in your writing. I try to write comments in your writings.
Best wishes,
Hye ji
Dear June,
답글삭제I’m impressed by your writing. I’m sorry to hear that you haven’t gotten helpful feedbacks. I think your grammar and composition in are almost flawless. In my case, I have had many feedbacks from students, because I had a lot of grammatical or spelling errors. While I read this writhing I could understand without hesitation. However, I have a sentence that I couldn’t understand clearly on your writing. What is the meaning of that ‘Second, I can learn dos and don’ts in writings.’? Anyway, I don’t know my comments are helpful or not, I will come your blog frequently and comment for you.
Thank,
Jiyon
Hi Joon,
답글삭제Your opinion is so impressed to me. I thought it was a natual thinking that comments from others is helpful to me. But, while I was reading your paragraph, I realized that I hadn't thought about it seriously. Also, It made me think about using critical thinking in all things is important to improve our writing skills.
Thanks,
Soyoung
Dear June,
답글삭제I agree with what you're saying and it makes me look back at myself. I've been writing comments only about the content of the writing, not an actual feedback. I think giving feedbacks are much more beneficial to the writer because it makes him or her to produce better quality of work. Therefore, I would like to suggest you to change the word 'ambiguousness' in the first paragraph to 'ambiguity.' I hope this helps!
Have a nice day,
Jee Hye
Hello, It's me

Have a nice weekend,
